FOMREK brings together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to produce locally-grounded knowledge on refugees and internally displaced persons. We challenge dominant narratives that do not speak to local realities.
Through co-creation with state and non-state actors, FOMREK transforms research into policy change for refugees, IDPs, and host communities across Kenya.
The Forced Migration Research Network–Kenya (FOMREK) is a consortium of academic and research institutions
dedicated to enhancing the visibility, collaboration, and impact of forced migration research in Kenya. Established in
2024, the Network unites universities, scholars, and humanitarian actors in producing locally relevant evidence that
informs national, regional, and global policy dialogues on displacement.
FOMREK operates as a collaborative hub for knowledge generation, exchange, and capacity strengthening.
